The title track of Acutek’s ‘Losing Grip’ EP explores the deepest trenches of the earth, cavernous low-end rolling along as liquid sounds drip from the ceiling, hi-hats and shakers snaking their way through the drums’ carefully laid-out crevices.

Drumcode, Filth on Acid and Uncage artist Reset Robot then remixes the track, leaving the dark behind for a bright and airy ear-worm bassline that’ll keep your feet tapping in the sunshine as distorted, alien signals mark each phrase.

‘Wait A Minute’ is next, a loopy slow-burner with subtle changes throughout, building up to a release of ecstatic energy before ‘Doctors Note’ picks up speed, its hypnotic, droning vocals crashing onto its ceaseless rhythm.

This stellar EP is meant to build the dance-floor late at night, or trip them out in the early hours.
